Welcome to North Country Academy Child Care

Where education is our focus!

Dear Parents,

Thank you for visiting the North Country Academy website!

We were inspired to open our preschool and child care centers as a result of the current need for quality care for children of working parents, and the lack of professional educational programs for preschoolers. We believe that we have created a place where parents can feel confident that their child is experiencing a well-balanced, developmental program, supported by a trained and well-supervised staff, in an environment conducive to the child's safety and well-being.

We invite you to visit one of our five Centers, phone, or email us with any questions you may have.

We hope that you will tell your neighbors, business associates, and friends about North Country Academy!

Very Sincerely Yours,

William H. Johnson Jr.

 Philosophy

North Country Academy's educational curriculum has been designed based on the following concepts:

  • We believe that young children will learn best when the curriculum and activities are developmentally appropriate. This means that the learning activities planned for the children are matched with their biological and developmental age, their individual abilities and interests.
  • We believe that young children learn best when they are involved in real-life experiences. Children learn by doing for themselves and this can be accomplished by involving children in daily activities utilizing a rich array of concrete objects and opportunities.
  • We believe that children learn best when there is a bond between home and school. The child senses satisfaction and security when there is a confident, friendly, working relationship between parents and the school.
  • We believe the most valuable lesson a child can learn during their early years is that school is fun, interesting and rewarding.

Therefore, every aspect of our day is planned to encourage each child to experience success, to develop a positive self-image and to help each one develop the social, emotional, physical, creative and intellectual aspects of their personalities.
