Explanation of Rate Increase |
|
Dear Parents, At the beginning of every new year we analyze our progress, evaluate our improvement, and set new goals. Looking back at our goals for 2005, we know that our focuses were a success. During 2005, we continued to concentrate on hiring the most qualified staff, offering affordable benefits, and improving training courses. Last year we also expanded our training to include specific management courses for our Directors. All Directors completed lengthy courses in Deligation, Customer Service, and Successful Management Team Strategies. We will continue to offer new management trainings this year in addition to the hours required by New York State. Our goal is to exceed the regulations regarding all staff training. We strive to constantly improve our courses and on several occasions in the past year introduce new classes that were inspired by conversations with our parents. In addition, we now have over 70 MAT trained staff members so that our centers may continue to give medication as you/your doctor requests or in the event of an emergency. |

North Country Academy Announces New Hours of Operation |
Effective January 6th, 2003 all North Country Academy Centers will be changing the hours of operation. We will now open at 7:00am and close at 6:00pm. The decision to change our hours was made after the need for care in the early morning and late evening was re-evaluated. Our management office also considered many factors including: staffing schedules, time needed to make weather related decisions, evening employee training classes, and increases in operational costs. |

Changes to Over-the-Counter Drug Policy |
|
Effective November 20th, 2002 North Country Academy will no longer administer Tylenol, Motrin, or any other over-the-counter medication without a doctor's note on file. North Country Academy was informed during a meeting with the Office of Children and Family services about the new requirements regarding medication. It is acceptable to have a letter/note on file giving North Country Academy permission (signed by the pediatrician) to give over-the-counter medication as needed. This will eliminate the need for multiple phone calls or visits to your doctor. Parent permission will still be allowed for diaper cream and sunscreen. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please speak to your center director if you have any concerns or questions. For your convenience we have created a easy to download and print authorization form that can be completed by your physician and return to NCA to be kept on file. |
